A Fender Custom Shop instrument is extraordinary. You know it when you play one—it’s definitely more than the sum of its parts. It’s filled with intangible, electrifying elements that add a new dimension to your playing experience. It’s as if the instrument itself is imbued with history, alive with the spirit of the place where it was built and the devotion of those who crafted it.

The Custom Shop is home to Fender’s most skilled and talented builders. It’s a bustling, noisy and creatively volcanic place that re-earns its nickname—the Dream Factory—every day. Custom Shop builders are completely dedicated to their art—part craftsman, part artist, part music fan and, more often than not, part mad scientist. They’re the best at what they do, and they pour all of their passion, hard-earned knowledge and skill into every instrument they build. It’s no ordinary place, and the creations that come from it are no ordinary instruments. Welcome to the Fender Custom Shop.

This Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul flagship model dates all the way back to 1954. The Custom was design by Les Paul to be the "tuxedo" version of the classic. It looks every bit as good now as it did then but has been given some player friendly upgrades along the way. Kitted out with all you need to play and sound at your best, this is still one of the all-time standout instruments. This model has found its way into a number of styles; from jazz to metal, this is a guitar that belongs wherever you want it to.

Murphy Lab Finish

Each Murphy Lab guitar is painstakingly aged to look and feel like a guitar you've owned for years. The aging process under Tom Murphy's guidance has taken a leap forward, with the new nitrocellulose lacquer recreating the look of a guitar that has spent years in and out of its case with its wood moving to create that authentic checking. The Murphy Lab doesn't stop at giving you an authentically aged finish though, they know exactly how a vintage guitar should feel too. When you pick up this SG you'll notice the rolled fingerboard edges, the rolled binding and it'll feel like a guitar you've played your entire life.

Authentic Neck Shape

A 1964 SG is hard to come by and not many will ever get to play one. This SG features a period-correct, authentic medium "C" neck shape. Few in the world have the access to vintage instruments that Gibson do, this means the Custom Shop can recreate in excruciating detail exactly how a '64 neck should feel. Combined with the Murphy Lab aging it feels exactly like an old '64 SG should after years and years of playing. Altogether this means that the experience of a '64 SG is no longer a dream, it's a reality with this Custom Shop Murphy Lab guitar.
